Ricardo Scipio African-Caribbean Herbalist

I work with individuals to provide them with highly personalised herbal protocols rooted in tradition, clinical experience, and a deep respect for the body.

There are many ways to speak about healing.

This is not one of the loud ones.

I am a Registered Herbalist. I have been working with plants for thirty-nine years. It’s my calling — one that was handed to me by ten generations of herbalists in my family, rooted in Trinidad and Tobago.

I develop customised protocols for each person I work with, because no two people are the same and no two bodies respond the same way. What works for one person may do nothing for another. The only way to know what will work for you is to start from where you actually are.

If you have found your way here, you are probably looking for something you have not found elsewhere. Something more considered. More personal. More honest.

That is what I do.

I do this work because I have watched too many people be rushed through appointments, handed generic advice, and sent home without ever being heard.

The body is always communicating. It tells you what it needs, what it rejects, what it is struggling with, and what it responds to. Most people have never been shown how to listen to those signals. Most practitioners do not take the time.

I take the time.

My work is rooted in the African-Caribbean herbal tradition. That is where I come from. That is what formed me. I did not discover this in a book or a weekend course. I grew into it — watching my grandmother, a shaman, herbalist, and Shango priest in Trinidad, work with plants and with people in ways that shaped everything I understand about the body.

Over the years I have also studied Traditional Chinese herbal practices and Western herbal approaches. Not to replace what I know, but to deepen my understanding of how the body responds to plants across cultures and traditions.

I practise what I know. And what I know has been tested over generations.

You are not a case file. You are not a disease or combination of diseases. And you are not a problem to be managed.

You are a living system — responsive, adaptive, and constantly communicating. The question is whether anyone has taken the time to listen.

I have been listening for thirty-nine years. I am good at it.

If you are ready to begin, we start with a conversation. Sixty minutes. Just you and me. No rush. No script. Just a place to be heard and taken seriously.
